Fred Eaglesmith Portland Concert reviews
Great Show Offset the Terrible Experience Getting There
Beware of the disaster that was getting to the Alamodome and getting inside. San Antonio should be ashamed as cops blocked off random streets, causing gridlock. They should publicize street closures in advance for better planning. Thankfully, we were blocked off from the chaos. We bailed and walked the last 3/4 mile to arrive shortly before curtain time, only to be stuck in a huge line to get in. Our tickets had a gate number, but we couldn't find a gate map online, so we went to the gate we could find. Their slow electronic readers added another 20 plus minutes to the wait. After the concert, waiting for an Uber that couldn't get to the arena took over an hour. We had to crawl through a fence gap to reach the driver and then endure more traffic to leave. Planning and communication need improvement for events in San Antonio. If you attend, expect a couple of extra hours on either end. Fred Eaglesmith, despite being 75, put on an amazing show. If you have the chance to see one of the remaining events, do it. You might not see Fred Eaglesmith again, but you could attend another event at the Alamodome.
